Welcome to Shady Lawn Resort

Shady Lawn Resort, nestled on the serene shores of Lake Darling in Alexandria, Minnesota, offers a charming retreat that balances rustic comfort with natural beauty. With a solid 4.1 rating, the resort is a favored destination for families, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a peaceful lakefront escape.

The cabins at Shady Lawn Resort provide a cozy, well-stocked environment. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and maintenance, as highlighted by Heather Siebring’s observation of fresh, pleasant-smelling cabins. While some find the bedrooms on the smaller side, the overall accommodations support a restful stay. Joe Sandaker’s praise of the beautiful lake, inviting dock, and the standout upper deck of Cabin 7 exemplifies the inviting atmosphere that many return for.

Despite a few notes on cabin wear, including older mattresses and occasional maintenance issues mentioned by Julian Carr, the resort’s value and lakeside location remain appealing. The tranquil setting, combined with easy access to Alexandria’s restaurants, shops, and amusement parks, makes it a practical yet scenic getaway.

Shady Lawn Resort honors multi-generational visits, as Alan Holt’s family reunion experience illustrates. The resort is clearly designed to accommodate all ages, especially with its kid-friendly amenities, pet-friendly policies, and myriad activities such as fishing and swimming. Kate Sandaker’s recognition of the friendly owners and family-friendly environment rounds out the welcoming experience.

Ultimately, Shady Lawn Resort feels like a warm, genuine lakeside haven. It may not boast luxury, but it offers an honest, heartfelt place to connect with nature and loved ones. The blend of quiet comfort and outdoor adventure invites visitors to slow down, breathe deeply, and return refreshed.

The cabins were clean an smelled nice, well maintained, an stocked well with everything needed for our stay. Property was also fairly quiet even though most all cabins were in use. Not far from restaurants, shop's and grocery stores, and the amusement park. Only thing I didn't like is the bedrooms were smaller than I liked, but we made it work.

There are many good things about this place, it is in expensive, the cabins are large and the location is great. Also the lake is great for swimming. But the cabins we're pretty run-down but livable. The mattresses were worn and some of the ceiling tiles we're falling off. And the toilet felt like it was going to fall over. Another problem was that almost none of their boats' motors worked. (The owner said that he would attend to that) in all it was a nice place as it was cheap, function, and relaxing. Nice people. Also there was free internet.

Always fun to come out to their cabins. The lake is beautiful. The dock has a spot to sit. The upper deck is amazing and cabin 7 is perfect.
